A If you were at a barbecue or potluck recently, chances are you've tried a seven layer salad. The beauty of this particular dish is that each has its own version of it. You never know what you get the first bite (and even then you might not yet know exactly what you eat). Here is a seven layer salad recipe that I created called the Classic. Use all the ingredients that you thinkwould involve, if it is a "standard" version ever. This recipe is more popular with my friends more conservative.
Ingredients for the classic seven layer salad recipe:
1 head iceberg lettuce
1 cup frozen peas (thawed)
1 red onion (chopped)
3 eggs (hard boiled)
1 1 / 2 cups Cheddar cheese (shredded)
2 cups tomatoes (chopped)
1 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoons salt
Once again, only this recipeVersion of the classic seven salad. Level 'For your wishes simply to get to it, you can add one or more of the following ingredients: mushrooms, bacon, diced ham, Parmesan, pepper, celery, etc.
Directions:
1. Wash and chop lettuce. Place lettuce in a large bowl for your first layer.
2. Slice the boiled eggs. Layer over the salad you want (and maybe a pinch of salt and pepper onEggs).
3. The next layer of frozen peas on the eggs.
4. Put the chopped red onion completely over the peas.
5. The next level that you add the diced tomatoes are on.
6. A layer of cheddar cheese over the tomato.
7. In a separate bowl, mix the mayonnaise and sugar. Carefully spoon this over the last layer of cheese. Be sure to cover the entire head of lettuce.
8. Cover bowl tightly with plastic wrap and store cover, and refrigerateNight.
9. Just before serving, stir salad and sprinkle with the additional coating or spices.
One of the best things that this seven layer salad recipe that you are prepared before it, and it will still taste fresh when you need it. The classic combination of ingredients make this dish a hit to your next office party or a family outing.
